The ‘Retouch’ Vila do Conde award has been dedicated to late Iranian math scholar Maryam Mirzakhani, a world famous academic.
The cast and crew of the Iranian short film ‘Retouch’ presented their prize grabbed at Vila do Conde Filmfest to the late intellectual.
The short film’s costume designer, Adele Cheraghi, who was attending the closing ceremony of the event offered the trophy to the family of the internationally-renowned scientist on behalf of all the movie's crew.
Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, the short film depicts a young woman whose husband dies right before her eyes in a tragic scene.
‘Retouch’ had won the Audience Award at the Portuguese “Vila do Conde" Filmfest.
The Festival, lanched in 1993, is one of the most significant cultural and cinematographic events in Portugal which screens short films. It is held annually in July.
